Home, sweet home. A trip to God's country

I am a native Hoosier. The BF is a native Illinoisan. I was looking for a good excuse to visit my brother, and BF is always looking for a good competition. Enter the Hoosiers vs Illini football game.

I worked for the athletic department in college, so I never actually got to attend a game as a fan. I was really excited to enjoy the real Memorial Stadium (as opposed the fake one in Champaign) as a regular person. Plus, the game brought on a lot of other firsts. I got to see my brother's girlfriend perform as a red stepper, and I got to be with my nephew at his first college football game. It happens to work out that it was at his future alma mater! Plus I got to hang out with my brother and his awesome roommates and spend time with my sister.

The game didn't end up the way I wanted to, but the BF was excited about the outcome. Even with the loss, I consider it a very successful weekend; a weekend with my siblings, BF and friends, IU tailgate and cheese sticks from Mad Mushroom. Plus, Wrigley LOVED tailgating. He had enough ear rubs to last him awhile!

Sometimes the best part of moving to a new city is going home and revisiting your roots. It makes you appreciate all the phases of your life.
